LOWER DIR: A meeting was held at the Jirga Hall on the first day of the training and monitoring plan for the upcoming November 2026 polio eradication campaign, with officials discussing measures to improve team training, field performance and monitoring.
The meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Lower Dir, Dr. Iza Arshad, who directed relevant authorities to ensure advance planning, quality training and effective coordination among departments for the campaign.
Focus on Missed Children
Dr. Iza Arshad stressed the need for special attention to children who missed polio vaccination, parents who refused vaccination and children who were unavailable at home during vaccination visits.
She also called for full implementation of campaign micro-plans and stronger field monitoring to ensure that every eligible child is vaccinated.
The meeting concluded with a commitment from relevant departments and polio programme staff to work jointly for the successful completion of the November campaign and take comprehensive measures to keep Lower Dir polio-free.
