LOWER DIR: An open forum (Khuli Kachehri) was held in Talash as part of a public outreach campaign initiated by District Police Officer (DPO) Lower Dir Syed Talal Ahmad Shah, providing residents with an opportunity to directly raise policing and public safety concerns.
The forum was attended by DSP Timergara Akhtar Ali, Traffic DSP Khan Nazar Khan, other police officials, local elders, jirga members, youth representatives and members of the general public.
During the session, citizens highlighted several issues, including traffic problems in Talash, narcotics, beggary, one-wheeling and traffic violations. Participants also requested the establishment of a women’s desk at Talash Police Station to facilitate women seeking police assistance.
DPO Syed Talal Ahmad Shah listened to the concerns and suggestions and issued instructions to the relevant officers for immediate measures and timely resolution of the issues.
He said legal action would be taken against drug dealers, one-wheelers, traffic law violators and other elements causing difficulties for citizens.
The DPO said the people of Talash had consistently cooperated with the police and assured residents that law-enforcement authorities would continue working to protect lives and property and address public concerns.
He added that the series of open forums would continue to strengthen police-public coordination and ensure more effective resolution of local issues.
