Timergara: The Lower Dir Food Authority carried out inspections of restaurants and fast-food outlets in Timergara following a public complaint lodged by college students with the Office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner Lower Dir.
Acting on the complaint, Wajid Ali Khan directed immediate action. Assistant Director Shakeel Ahmed Khan, along with his team, conducted inspections in the Ashari Gat and Odigram areas.

During the inspection, the team recovered spoiled cooking oil from a restaurant, which was destroyed on the spot. In a separate action, unhygienic chicken was seized from a fast-food outlet and disposed of immediately to prevent its use.
The inspection team also recovered harmful vinegar from a fish vendor, which was destroyed on the spot. Additionally, samples of vinegar were collected from other fish vendors and sent to the State Laboratory for detailed analysis to determine their quality and safety.
Officials stated that the action was taken to ensure public health and food safety, adding that strict measures would continue against businesses violating food safety standards. The Food Authority urged citizens to report unhygienic practices to help ensure the availability of safe and quality food in the district.
