Lahore police have arrested three suspects accused of using an online platform to lure victims into a honey trap before robbing them of cash and mobile phones. Authorities say the group allegedly targeted multiple people through fake online identities and has been linked to more than 20 incidents.

The arrests were made by Ghaziabad Police using digital investigation techniques after a robbery reported on July 21. Police said the operation was launched on the instructions of DIG Operations Faisal Kamran, who ordered immediate action following the complaint.

Fake online profile used to target victims

According to a spokesperson for the DIG Operations office, the arrested suspects have been identified as Sonia Bibi, Azeem, and Asif.

Investigators allege that Sonia Bibi created a fake online profile under the name “Jennifer Lopez” to contact individuals through an online app and gain their trust.

Police said victims were allegedly invited to a residence under the pretext of meeting in person, where other members of the group would confront them, assault them, and rob them of their mobile phones and cash.

Police continue wider investigation

Authorities believe the group may have carried out more than 20 robberies using the same method.

A criminal case has been registered against the arrested suspects, who have been handed over to the investigation wing for further inquiry. Police said raids are underway to apprehend other alleged members of the network.
