A man has been arrested in Lahore after a video allegedly showing him assaulting his wife in public circulated widely on social media. The incident prompted police action after Lahore Deputy Inspector General (Operations) Faisal Kamran ordered an immediate investigation and the suspect’s arrest.
According to Lahore Police, the suspect was traced and arrested by Kahna Police from Jhedu Village. Authorities said the case gained attention after footage of the alleged assault went viral online.
Police Take Action
Police said the video appears to show the suspect physically assaulting his wife in a public place. Initial findings indicate the incident was linked to a domestic dispute, though authorities have not released further details about the circumstances.
Following the circulation of the video, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran directed the SP Model Town to ensure the suspect was apprehended without delay.
Investigation Underway
Police confirmed the suspect is in custody and that legal proceedings are being carried out in accordance with the law.
Commenting on the case, DIG Faisal Kamran said individuals involved in violence against women would not be given any leniency and reaffirmed the police’s commitment to taking action against such offences.
