Islamabad police have launched an inquiry after a Chinese woman alleged that she was assaulted by female police officers at Kohsar Police Station. A video circulating on social media, showing the woman during the incident, has drawn public attention and prompted an official response.
According to the woman’s allegations, she was subjected to mistreatment by female officers after approaching police over a dispute. Police sources, however, said the woman had initially contacted police regarding a financial matter in Islamabad’s F-6 sector.
Video prompts official response
A video shared on social media appears to show female police officers speaking to the Chinese woman during the incident. The authenticity and full context of the footage have not been independently verified.
Following the video’s circulation, the Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) took notice of the matter.
Inquiry ordered
The SSP Operations directed the relevant Superintendent of Police (SP) to conduct an inquiry into the allegations and submit a report.
Authorities have not yet released the findings of the investigation, and no official conclusion has been announced regarding the claims made by the complainant.
