MUMBAI: Actress Komal Rani Swarnkar has responded to allegations surrounding her alleged involvement in the reported marital tensions between Bollywood actor Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja.
The controversy intensified after Sunita Ahuja spoke publicly about difficulties in her personal life and sought support from women and members of the younger generation.
In an Instagram Story shared on Saturday, Komal rejected suggestions that she was responsible for problems in Govinda’s marriage.
Responding to the allegations, Komal made a serious accusation against Sunita, claiming that a woman who had allegedly tried to harm her own husband for years could not accuse others of breaking up a relationship.
Komal also rejected being described as a “home breaker,” questioning how someone could break a relationship that she claimed was already facing serious problems.
She further said that, in her view, a good and loyal wife would not treat her husband in such a manner.
Komal also asked Sunita not to use her name in the ongoing controversy, alleging that she was being dragged into the dispute as part of a specific agenda.
The comments came after Sunita reportedly spoke about her personal difficulties during a visit to the Dakshineswar Kali Temple in Kolkata, saying that what was happening to her was not right and that her home was being broken apart without reason.
Rumours about Govinda and Komal’s alleged relationship surfaced earlier this year after the two were reportedly seen travelling together at Mumbai airport. The two are also reportedly connected through the upcoming film Roopa.
Neither Govinda nor Komal has officially confirmed the alleged relationship. The claims about their relationship therefore remain unverified speculation.
