A Karachi court has ordered that a formal complaint be registered against the investigating officer in the Anmol alias Pinky drug case after he failed to submit the case challan or appear before the court despite being granted additional time.

The order was issued during a hearing at the Judicial Complex inside Karachi Central Jail, where the court expressed dissatisfaction over repeated non-compliance by the investigating officer.

Court Cites Failure To Submit Challan

According to court proceedings, Investigating Officer Inspector Muhammad Mansoor neither appeared before the court nor submitted the challan or any progress report despite a previous extension.

The court directed its reader to initiate a complaint against the officer under the relevant provisions, including Sections 166, 174 and 17-A, for failing to comply with the court’s directions.

Previous Notice Went Unanswered

The court noted that the investigating officer had also failed to comply with an earlier show-cause notice regarding the delayed submission of the challan.

At the previous hearing, the officer had sought more time, but no report or investigation record was submitted after the extension expired.

Case Background

Court records noted that Anmol, also known as Pinky, had previously been declared a proclaimed offender in the case, while her brother and an alleged facilitator have already been acquitted.

The case remains under judicial proceedings.
