A Karachi court has scheduled the framing of charges against alleged drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky in multiple narcotics cases, marking a key step in the long-pending legal proceedings. The court has also ensured that copies of the charge sheets and witness statements in six cases have been provided to the accused in jail.

The case is being heard by the Judicial Magistrate South in connection with narcotics cases registered at Gizri Police Station. According to court and jail officials, the required legal documents were delivered to the accused in compliance with the court’s orders before formal indictment proceedings.

Court completes pre-indictment process

Jail authorities said copies of the challans and prosecution witness statements in all six cases were personally delivered to Anmol alias Pinky inside the prison.

Following the completion of the pre-indictment process, the court fixed a date to formally frame charges and adjourned further proceedings for two weeks.

Cases date back to 2020

Police said the narcotics cases against the accused were registered between 2020 and 2022. Investigators stated that Anmol alias Pinky had remained a proclaimed absconder in those cases.

According to police, the accused was later arrested in a separate case registered at Garden Police Station and was subsequently taken into custody in the pending narcotics cases.
