Karachi Citizens Chase Alleged Motorcycle Snatchers, One Suspect Dies

Two men accused of snatching a motorcycle in Karachi were caught after the victims chased them in a car, police said. The pursuit ended in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, where the suspects’ motorcycle crashed after being struck by the pursuing vehicle. One suspect died while the other was seriously injured.

According to police, the incident began after the suspects allegedly snatched a motorcycle from citizens in the jurisdiction of Sachal Police Station. The victims followed the suspects until they reached Gulistan-e-Jauhar, where the chase came to an end.

Chase Ends In Crash

Police said the suspects were riding a motorcycle near Gul Muhammad Chowk in Block 9 of Gulistan-e-Jauhar when they were hit by the pursuing vehicle. Their motorcycle reportedly collided with the footpath, leaving both men critically injured.

Authorities said a crowd gathered at the scene, and the suspects were also assaulted before police arrived.

Police Recover Stolen Motorcycle And Weapon

Police shifted both suspects to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where one of them was pronounced dead. Gulistan-e-Jauhar SHO Kamran Qureshi identified the deceased as 24-year-old Shehzad Ali, while the injured suspect was identified as 22-year-old Amir Ali.

According to the SHO, officers recovered the allegedly stolen motorcycle and a weapon from the suspects’ possession.

Investigation Underway

Police said they are examining the suspects’ previous criminal records and collecting additional evidence to determine the full circumstances of the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
