KARACHI: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, in collaboration with the Culture Department, Government of Sindh, organised a full-day recreational trip to Keenjhar Lake for journalists, offering participants an opportunity to relax and explore the province’s cultural and historical heritage.
The excursion included a visit to Keenjhar Lake, where journalists enjoyed the scenic surroundings, followed by a visit to the historic Makli Graveyard. Participants learned about Sindh’s history, traditional architecture and rich cultural heritage during the visit.
The initiative was aimed at providing journalists with a break from their demanding professional routines while familiarising them with some of Sindh’s prominent historical landmarks.
Journalists Appreciate Recreational Initiative
Participating journalists expressed their gratitude to Muhammad Ahmed Shah, President of the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, and the Culture Department, Government of Sindh, for organising the trip.
They said such activities provide much-needed mental relaxation, encourage interaction among colleagues and create an opportunity to spend quality time together away from professional commitments.
Arts Council Plans More Cultural Activities
Muhammad Ahmed Shah welcomed the initiative, noting that journalists often work under demanding schedules while carrying out their professional responsibilities.
He said recreational and cultural activities give journalists an opportunity to relax, interact with colleagues and take a refreshing break from their busy routines.
Shah said the Arts Council would continue organising recreational and cultural activities for journalists in the future, reaffirming its commitment to creating opportunities for their well-being and engagement beyond their professional responsibilities.
