ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has granted in-principle approval to five major building projects, including two high-rise towers of up to 659 feet in Islamabad’s Blue Area.

The tallest project is a proposed 45-storey mixed-use tower on Plot No. 13 in Blue Area, with around 557,641 square feet of covered area. It will include basement parking, retail outlets, restaurants, residential apartments and penthouses.

A second proposed tower on Plot No. 09 will rise approximately 580 feet and have 42 storeys, adding to Blue Area’s emerging high-rise development.

Three More Projects Receive Approval

The CDA Design Vetting Committee also granted in-principle approval to three other projects, subject to technical and regulatory requirements. These include Tremezzo Mall in Bahria Garden City, Plot No. 62 in Business Park, Gulberg Greens, and Plot No. 108 in Park Avenue North, Gulberg Greens.

The CDA said the approvals are part of efforts to promote vertical development, modern commercial infrastructure, investment and efficient land use in Islamabad.

All projects will still be required to meet applicable planning regulations, structural safety requirements, parking provisions and fire and life-safety standards before receiving final approval.
