Islamabad: Fake police officers arrested for robbing citizens near PIMS Hospital

Islamabad — Police have arrested a group of suspects accused of impersonating police officers and targeting citizens near PIMS Hospital, Karachi Company police confirmed.

The suspects allegedly used police uniforms and tactics to deceive and rob vulnerable individuals arriving at the hospital, including patients and their families, according to officials.

Arrests made in Karachi Company jurisdiction

The arrests were carried out by Karachi Company police after multiple complaints of robberies in the area. Officials said the suspects had a prior criminal record and were involved in similar incidents in the past.

Police recovered cash worth hundreds of thousands of rupees, weapons, and communication equipment, including a wireless set, from their possession.

Investigation and admissions

According to preliminary investigations, the suspects have reportedly confessed to involvement in multiple robbery cases across the city. Authorities say further investigation is underway to trace their network and identify additional victims.

Police officials said strict action will continue against individuals involved in impersonation and street crime in the federal capital.
