Indian cricketer and spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has addressed the rumors of his alleged divorce from wife and dancer Dhanashree Verma, surprising fans with his response.
Sharing a post on Instagram, Chahal thanked his supporters and condemned the baseless speculations surrounding his relationship. In his message, he criticized the spreading of unverified news and pointed out the emotional distress it had caused his friends and family. He also called out the media for their intrusion into his personal life, emphasizing the need for respect and privacy in relationships.
Referring to the separation rumors, Chahal expressed that his and Dhanashree’s love story had been an inspiring one, which began during the COVID-19 lockdown and culminated in their marriage.
Neither Chahal nor Dhanashree has made an official statement denying the rumors, but both are rejecting the claims of a breakup. The rumors gained traction when Chahal and Dhanashree unfollowed each other on Instagram, and the cricketer deleted images of his wife, while she did not remove his pictures.
Earlier, Dhanashree Verma, who is a former dentist turned dancer and choreographer, spoke out against the rumors, expressing how difficult the past few days had been for her and her family. She condemned the hate and misinformation spread through trolling, which she claimed tarnished her character.
Just six days into the new year, rumors of the couple’s separation gained momentum, with one media outlet even reporting that the couple had decided to part ways. However, the couple continues to deny the claims.
Dhanashree and Chahal got engaged on August 8, 2020, and married on December 22, 2020, in a private ceremony in Gurugram.
