ISLAMABAD: Gerry’s Diplomatic Cricket Tournament Season 2 concluded in Islamabad on May 25 after three days of matches featuring diplomatic, international organisation, corporate, media and local authority teams.
The tournament brought together 10 teams and highlighted sports diplomacy, community engagement and cricket-based interaction among foreign missions, institutions and local stakeholders in the capital.
The participating teams included Spanish La Roja, UNICEF Lions, UNHCR, Diplo Team, ICCI, Gerry’s Strikers, MOFA XI, MOFA Lions, Media Shaheen and Excise Islamabad Warriors.
ICCI won the championship after defeating MOFA Lions in the final. The closing ceremony recognised the winning team and the wider spirit of cooperation shown during the tournament.
The event was organised by Mubasher Sanjrani, CEO of Sanjrani Oxens Enterprises. Gerry’s served as the title sponsor, while HabibMetro supported the tournament as silver sponsor, along with other partners.
ICCI President Sardar Tariq Mehmood attended the closing ceremony as chief guest. The event was also attended by ambassadors, diplomats, sports journalists, ICCI members and other guests.
