The tournament is scheduled to begin on October 2, 2027, with the final expected to be played on November 21.
A total of 14 teams will participate in the tournament. Ten teams are expected to be confirmed by September 30, with hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe already assured of direct qualification.
The remaining eight direct spots will be determined on the basis of the ICC ODI rankings. India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Australia, England, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh are currently in qualifying positions.
West Indies are expected to enter the qualification process, while Namibia’s direct qualification remains uncertain.
The ICC will also open registration for the World Cup ticket ballot on October 1. Fans will initially register for the ballot rather than purchasing tickets directly.
