A man died while his wife survived after the couple allegedly consumed poisonous pills following a domestic dispute in Alipur, police and rescue officials said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of City Police Station Alipur, where a minor argument between the husband and wife reportedly escalated. Rescue officials said the husband died while being transported to hospital, while his wife received timely medical treatment and survived.
Husband Dies En Route to Hospital
According to rescue sources, the incident took place in Basti Karch Wala in Mouza Ghalwan, where a man identified as Nadir allegedly consumed poisonous pills after an argument with his wife, Sawera.
Rescue personnel shifted Nadir to hospital, but he died before reaching the medical facility, officials said.
Wife Hospitalized, Condition Stabilized
After learning of her husband’s death, Sawera also allegedly consumed poisonous pills, according to rescue officials. She was immediately taken to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Alipur, where doctors provided emergency treatment and were able to save her life.
Police said the family declined to pursue legal proceedings, and Nadir was buried without further legal action at the request of his relatives.
Authorities have not released additional details, and no further official statement has been issued regarding the incident.
