Humnava has released Koi Achi Khabar, the seventh track of its debut season, continuing the platform’s effort to bring together artists, cultures and musical traditions through collaborative projects rooted in Pakistan.
Recorded at Offto Resort in Karimabad, Hunza, the song explores themes of reflection, uncertainty and hope. The release adds to Humnava’s growing catalogue of music that combines regional influences with contemporary production while highlighting stories and voices from different parts of the country.
Koi Achi Khabar features vocals by Faheem Uddin Hunzai and was curated by music producers Xulfi and Sherry Khattak. The track also includes performances by Sherry Khattak on electric guitar and backing vocals, Melvin Arthur on acoustic guitar and backing vocals, Muhammad Hunaid on xghini, Dorian Jonas Goetsch on synth and bass, Veeru Shan on tabla, and Adnan Karim on drums.
The song was written by Imran Ullah Hunzai, known by the pen name Ramz, and composed by Faheem Uddin Hunzai. Arrangement duties were shared by Xulfi and Sherry Khattak, while Xulfi produced and mixed the track.
Creative team and production
According to Humnava, the song reflects a personal and introspective narrative, focusing on questions of resilience and emotional uncertainty. The composition combines local musical expression with contemporary arrangements and storytelling.
Commenting on the release, Humnava Co-Founder and Creative Director Xulfi said the song captures thoughts and emotions that often emerge during moments of solitude and self-reflection. He also praised the lyrics by Imran Hunzai for their emotional depth and ability to connect with listeners on a personal level.
Music video filmed in Hunza
The accompanying music video was directed by Aamir Mughal, with Ghous Hussain and Shahzaib Qureshi serving as associate directors. Mir Tayyab Khan handled second-unit cinematography, while Xulfi served as consulting editor-director.
Post-production was completed by Mehroz Raza, with color grading by Leonardo Mareso. Production design and art direction were led by Aqeel ur Rehman, while styling was managed by Wajeeha Badar with support from styling associate Mahila Akhtar. Wardrobe management was handled by Sabir Amin and grooming by Trio Salon.
Filmed against the backdrop of Hunza’s mountain landscape, the video complements the song’s themes of introspection and hope.
Expanding Humnava’s first season
Koi Achi Khabar follows Humnava’s earlier releases, including Hairan Amanam, Noor-e-Nazar, Qataghani, Holoyor, Sway, and Lost in Love.
With its seventh release, the platform continues its focus on connecting audiences through music that crosses cultural, linguistic and geographic boundaries while remaining rooted in Pakistan’s diverse artistic traditions.
