ISLAMABAD, October 23, 2026: Pakistan’s electric vehicle market is set for another potential expansion as Huawei-backed Chinese automotive brand Luxeed moves towards entering the country following a strategic cooperation agreement with Nishat Group.
The agreement, signed in Wuhu, China, with support from Chery Group, could pave the way for Luxeed’s premium electric and range-extended vehicles to reach Pakistani buyers.
However, the partnership is currently at the memorandum of understanding (MoU) stage. The companies have not announced which vehicles will be introduced, when sales will begin or how much the models will cost in Pakistan.
What is Luxeed and why is Huawei involved?
Luxeed is a premium new-energy vehicle brand developed through a partnership between Chinese automaker Chery and technology giant Huawei.
Launched in China in 2023, the brand combines Chery’s vehicle engineering and manufacturing capabilities with Huawei’s software, intelligent driving technology and connected cockpit systems.
Luxeed operates under Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA), which brings advanced digital technology into the automotive industry.
Its first vehicle, the S7 electric sedan, entered the Chinese market in November 2023. Since then, Luxeed has expanded its lineup to include premium SUVs and a luxury multipurpose vehicle.
Which Luxeed cars could launch in Pakistan?
Although no model has been officially confirmed for Pakistan, Luxeed’s existing lineup offers an indication of what the brand could introduce.
Luxeed S7 — Premium electric sedan
The Luxeed S7 is a large electric sedan designed for buyers seeking luxury, performance and advanced technology.
It features an 800-volt electrical architecture and offers up to 855 kilometres of claimed driving range under China’s CLTC testing cycle.
In China, the S7 starts at approximately 229,800 yuan, equivalent to around $32,000.
Luxeed R7 — Electric and range-extended SUV
The Luxeed R7 is a coupe-style SUV available in battery-electric and range-extended electric configurations.
Its fully electric variants offer up to approximately 800 kilometres of claimed CLTC range, depending on specification.
The range-extended version uses a petrol-powered generator to support longer journeys, potentially making it attractive to Pakistani buyers concerned about charging availability.
Chinese prices start at approximately 249,800 yuan, or around $35,000.
Luxeed V9 — Luxury seven-seat MPV
The Luxeed V9 targets premium family and executive transport buyers with a spacious seven-seat configuration.
It uses a range-extended electric powertrain, with certain versions offering a claimed combined driving range exceeding 1,200 kilometres.
The model starts at approximately 389,800 yuan, equivalent to around $55,000 in China.
Luxeed RX — Premium electric SUV
Introduced in 2026, the Luxeed RX expands the brand’s SUV portfolio with a more conventional sporty design.
The model offers up to approximately 852 kilometres of claimed CLTC driving range and features Huawei’s intelligent cockpit and driving technology.
Its Chinese starting price is approximately 259,800 yuan, or around $36,000.
These prices apply to China and do not indicate what Luxeed vehicles would cost in Pakistan. Actual driving ranges also depend on road conditions, weather and driving habits.
How could Luxeed compete in Pakistan?
Pakistan’s premium electric vehicle segment has become increasingly competitive, with Chinese brands such as AVATR, XPeng and Zeekr introducing advanced electric models.
Luxeed could compete in this market by combining Huawei’s technology with Chery’s automotive engineering.
The R7 and RX may be particularly relevant to Pakistani consumers because of their SUV body styles.
The R7’s range-extended option could also appeal to buyers who want electric driving without depending entirely on public charging infrastructure.
However, its competitive position will depend on which models Nishat Group introduces and their final local prices.
Will Luxeed cars be assembled in Pakistan?
No local assembly plan has been confirmed.
The agreement does not specify whether Luxeed vehicles will initially be imported as completely built-up units or whether local manufacturing could be considered later.
Details regarding dealerships, after-sales service, warranty coverage and charging support also remain unavailable.
These factors will be important in determining the brand’s prospects in Pakistan.
When will Luxeed launch in Pakistan?
Luxeed’s official Pakistan launch date has not been announced.
The agreement with Nishat Group represents an initial step towards market entry rather than confirmation that vehicles are ready for sale.
The next major announcement is expected to clarify which model will arrive first, its specifications, pricing and distribution arrangements.
For now, the proposed entry of Luxeed signals growing interest from Chinese automakers in Pakistan’s premium electric vehicle market, with Huawei’s automotive technology potentially becoming available to another group of local buyers.
