KARACHI: Renowned Pakistani fashion designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin (HSY) has revealed that his mobile phone and personal accounts were hacked, warning fans and contacts not to respond to suspicious messages sent in his name.
In a statement shared on Instagram, HSY said that on October 20, hackers gained access to his mobile phone, WhatsApp, email account and contact list.
The designer said he does not know how many messages were sent from his compromised accounts, but hundreds of people have reportedly received messages appearing to come from him.
HSY urged friends, fans and acquaintances to ignore suspicious messages, avoid sending money or personal information, and refrain from opening unfamiliar links or files.
He also reassured followers that he is safe and said efforts are underway to secure the affected accounts.
