Historic Miss World Debut as Aneeqa Jamal Iqbal Crowned Miss World Pakistan

LAHORE: Pakistan will make its first official appearance at the Miss World pageant after Aneeqa Jamal Iqbal was crowned Miss World Pakistan 2026, marking a historic milestone in the country’s participation in international beauty competitions.

The crowning ceremony was held in Lahore, where Aneeqa Jamal Iqbal was officially named Pakistan’s representative for Miss World 2026. The event marks the first time Pakistan will formally compete in the 73-year history of the Miss World pageant.

Historic Representation for Pakistan

Aneeqa Jamal Iqbal received the crown during a ceremony at a local hotel in Lahore. The title was presented by Dr. Shafaq Akhtar, Miss Pakistan Universal 2022, in the presence of Mr. Pakistan World Atta Ullah Gujjar and other guests.

Her selection represents a significant step in Pakistan’s participation in international pageantry and cultural representation.

Miss Pakistan World Organization Highlights Milestone

The Miss Pakistan World Organization, established in 2002, has worked to prepare Pakistani contestants for international beauty pageants for more than two decades.

Organization President Sonia Ahmed described Pakistan’s official participation in Miss World as an important milestone, saying it reflects the growing international presence of Pakistani women across diverse fields.

Pakistan’s Growing Presence in Global Pageants

Although this is Pakistan’s first official entry into Miss World, Pakistani contestants have previously represented the country in several international beauty competitions.

Actress and model Anita Ayub participated in Miss Asia Pacific International in 1989. In recent years, Pakistani representatives have also competed in Miss Earth, Miss Supranational, Miss International, Miss Grand International, and Miss Cosmo.

In 2023, Erica Robin became the first Pakistani contestant to compete in the main Miss Universe pageant, followed by contestants including Noor Zarmina and Roma Riaz.

Aneeqa Jamal Iqbal will now represent Pakistan at Miss World 2026, opening a new chapter in the country’s history at the international competition.
