The hearing on the bail application of accused Zeeshan Arshad in the Hina Javed murder case was adjourned until September 14 after the station house officer (SHO) and investigating officer failed to appear before the court.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Naseer Ahmed heard the case and expressed strong displeasure over the absence of the police officials and the failure to produce the required investigation record.
The court observed that the investigating officer had gone to Lahore instead of appearing with the case record and directed the SHO to ensure that all relevant records are produced at the next hearing.
Court Questions Two Vakalatnamas
During the proceedings, two lawyers submitted separate vakalatnamas on behalf of the detained accused, Zeeshan Arshad.
The court noted that two separate biometric verifications and two vakalatnamas had been cleared from the jail. Both documents were ordered to be sent to the jail superintendent for verification and clearance.
The court also described the matter as a highly sensitive, high-profile case and directed that all legal and investigative requirements be followed properly.
Family Raises Concerns Over Investigation
Hina Javed’s family has also expressed concerns about the police investigation and its handling of the case. Former Lahore High Court judge Shah Khawar is expected to represent the family in the proceedings, while Hina Javed’s brother, Fahad Javed, has completed biometric verification.
Digital designer Hina Javed was allegedly subjected to severe violence before she was killed on August 20. According to the case details, she was found with her hands and feet tied.
