SWAT — Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar met University of Swat Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Husnul Amin at his office in Islamabad and congratulated him on his appointment.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Husnul Amin highlighted the challenges and opportunities facing universities in peripheral regions, particularly the University of Swat, amid changing global dynamics.
He emphasised the need to strengthen institutional capacity, ensure sustainable development, and provide financial and institutional support to help the university realise its full potential.
Both sides discussed opportunities for collaboration, with the HEC chairman reaffirming the commission’s commitment to strengthening higher education institutions in less-developed regions.
In a separate engagement, the vice chancellor met professors and officials from leading universities in the United Kingdom to discuss Transnational Education (TNE).
He briefed the delegation on the University of Swat’s academic profile and available opportunities, while exploring potential areas of academic collaboration to strengthen international institutional partnerships.
