PESHAWAR: Students of Government Superior Science College Peshawar donated 40 units of blood during a special campaign organised in collaboration with Hamza Foundation Peshawar to support patients with thalassemia, haemophilia and other blood disorders.
The blood donation drive was held at the college with the aim of encouraging voluntary blood donation among young people while helping patients who depend on regular blood transfusions.
Students took part in the campaign in significant numbers, contributing 40 blood donations for patients receiving treatment for blood-related disorders.
Hamza Foundation said voluntary blood donations remain particularly important for thalassemia and haemophilia patients, many of whom require regular access to safe blood as part of their treatment.
The foundation thanked Government Superior Science College Principal Muhammad Ishaq, Blood Society Director Professor Rashid and Chief Proctor Professor Shah Zamir for facilitating the campaign.
It also acknowledged the contribution of faculty members, staff and students in organising and supporting the blood donation drive.
At the conclusion of the campaign, Hamza Foundation Peshawar RMO Mubarak Ali presented a commemorative shield to Principal Muhammad Ishaq in recognition of the college’s cooperation.
The foundation urged students and members of the public to make voluntary blood donation a regular practice, saying each donation can provide critical support to people living with thalassemia, haemophilia and other conditions requiring blood transfusions.
The campaign concluded with an appeal to promote blood donation as a potentially life-saving act and encourage greater participation among young people.
