October 30, 2026: Google has announced two new artificial intelligence models, Gemini 4 Carbon and Genie 4, designed to strengthen cybersecurity capabilities and create interactive virtual environments.

The announcement comes just two weeks after the technology company introduced another set of AI models, highlighting its continued expansion into specialized artificial intelligence applications.

According to Google, Gemini 4 Carbon is its most advanced AI model to date, developed specifically to assist cybersecurity professionals in identifying and addressing vulnerabilities in computer systems.

The company claims that Gemini 4 Carbon outperformed several competing models, including Gemini 4 Argon and OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra, in selected benchmark tests.

The model is intended to help security specialists detect weaknesses in digital infrastructure and support efforts to strengthen computer system security.

Access to Gemini 4 Carbon is currently limited to selected cybersecurity experts, with broader availability yet to be announced.

Genie 4 focuses on interactive virtual environments

Google’s second model, Genie 4, is designed to create and simulate digital worlds based on real or imaginary environments.

Unlike conventional AI chatbots, which generate responses by predicting sequences of words, world models attempt to represent environments, objects and interactions within simulated spaces.

This technology could support developments in robotics, virtual environments, video game design and other applications requiring interactive digital simulations.

Genie 4 also introduces audio capabilities, allowing developers to incorporate background sounds and dialogue into generated virtual worlds.

The feature is expected to make simulated environments more immersive by combining visual interactions with sound.

Availability remains limited

Neither Gemini 4 Carbon nor Genie 4 is currently available to the general public.

Google has indicated that Gemini 4 Carbon is being made accessible to selected cybersecurity professionals, while details regarding wider access to both models have not yet been disclosed.

The announcements reflect Google’s growing focus on specialized AI systems designed for practical applications beyond traditional text-based chatbots.

While Gemini 4 Carbon targets cybersecurity challenges, Genie 4 explores the potential of AI-generated environments for developers, researchers and digital content creators.
