ISLAMABAD: Google has joined Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations by featuring the country’s green-and-white crescent flag in a special homepage doodle marking Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day.

Google regularly changes its homepage artwork to commemorate significant national days, historical events and notable personalities around the world. Pakistan’s Independence Day has also been featured through special Google Doodles in previous years.

For August 14, the search engine’s homepage features a waving Pakistani flag against a cloudy sky, incorporated into a design using Google’s familiar lettering.

The special artwork appears when users access Google Search and can also be viewed on the main Google homepage. Clicking the doodle takes users to a search results page related to Pakistan’s Independence Day.
