ISLAMABAD, Oct 18: Global crude oil prices rose following reports of attacks on ships and oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, as tensions around the strategic waterway continued to affect international energy markets.
Brent crude climbed to $109.90 per barrel, while US benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) reached $101.40 per barrel.
UAE Murban crude also increased, reaching $113.40 per barrel.
The latest increases came amid concerns over maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, a major shipping route for international oil supplies.
