ISLAMABAD: A high-level delegation from Ghana visited Riphah International University in Islamabad to explore opportunities for academic collaboration, research partnerships and institutional linkages between Pakistan and Ghana.
The visit focused on strengthening educational ties between the two countries, with discussions covering higher education, healthcare education, faculty engagement, student opportunities and joint research initiatives.
The Ghanaian delegation, comprising senior representatives from higher education institutions, was welcomed by officials of Riphah International University. The visiting delegates held discussions with university leadership and reviewed Riphah’s academic programmes, research initiatives and healthcare facilities.
The two sides discussed areas of mutual interest, including academic partnerships, student and faculty exchange programmes, collaborative research and the sharing of institutional expertise.
Both sides expressed interest in developing sustainable mechanisms for cooperation that could create new opportunities for students, faculty members and researchers.
A key part of the visit was an official dinner hosted by Riphah International University Chancellor Hassan Muhammad Khan in honour of the Ghanaian delegation. Senior members of the university’s academic and administrative leadership also attended the gathering.
University officials highlighted the importance of international academic partnerships in expanding access to knowledge, encouraging innovation and creating opportunities for joint research and educational initiatives.

During the visit, the delegates also toured Riphah campuses and facilities, including academic departments and healthcare institutions. They were briefed on the university’s educational infrastructure, professional training programmes and research activities, including its work in medical, dental and allied health sciences.
The visit is expected to create avenues for future cooperation in faculty and student exchanges, collaborative research, capacity building and joint academic programmes.
The engagement also highlights the role of higher education institutions in strengthening international relations through knowledge sharing and people-to-people connections.
Academic exchanges between Pakistan and Ghana could contribute to stronger cooperation in education, research, innovation, healthcare and human resource development.
