FDE Launches Summer School & Fiesta 2026 For Islamabad Students

The Federal Directorate of Education has launched the Summer School & Fiesta 2026 in Islamabad to provide students with practical training in technology, creativity, entrepreneurship and life skills.

The programme, launched under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, is being held from June 15 to June 30 across 31 educational institutions in the Islamabad Capital Territory. Officials said more than 11,500 students from urban and rural areas have enrolled in the initiative.

The Summer School & Fiesta 2026 was inaugurated by Federal Education Secretary Nadeem Mahbub at Islamabad College for Girls, F-6/2, on June 16. The ceremony was attended by FDE Director General Javed Iqbal Mirza, senior government officials, educationists, development partners and students.

According to the Federal Directorate of Education, the programme is designed to help young students gain future-ready skills through practical learning, innovation and creative activities. Registration, training, transport and learning materials are being provided free of cost to support wider participation.

Students will receive hands-on training in artificial intelligence, coding, robotics, Internet of Things, software development, digital and creative arts, entrepreneurship and financial literacy.

The programme also includes public speaking, self-defence, mental health awareness and environmental education, offering students exposure to both technical and personal development areas.

After the inauguration, Secretary Education Nadeem Mahbub visited different stalls and fiesta activities. Officials said he reviewed student work and appreciated the level of participation shown by students.

Speaking at the ceremony, DG FDE Javed Iqbal Mirza said technology, creativity, critical thinking and communication skills were important for preparing young people for a changing global environment.

The initiative is part of wider efforts by education authorities to expand activity-based learning opportunities for students in Islamabad’s public-sector educational institutions.
