A factory worker in Kot Radha Kishan died by suicide after experiencing financial stress, with family members saying he had been deeply distressed after receiving a high electricity bill. Police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The incident occurred in Bhothan Pura, where 43-year-old Nasir Joya was found dead at his home. According to police, his family was away in Bahawalnagar at the time of the incident. He is survived by his wife and two children.
Family Cites Financial Pressure
Relatives said Nasir had recently received an electricity bill exceeding Rs42,000 for the month of June. They said his limited income made it difficult to pay the amount, leaving him under significant financial and emotional strain.
The family believes the mounting pressure contributed to his decision, although authorities have not confirmed the exact cause.
Police Begin Investigation
Police reached the scene after receiving information about the incident and shifted the body to a nearby hospital to complete legal formalities.
Officials said an investigation is underway and that all aspects of the case are being examined before any final conclusions are reached.
