Lahore Qalandars have announced former England fast bowler Darren Gough as their head coach for PSL 10.
Expressing his excitement, Gough stated, “I am thrilled to work with Lahore Qalandars again. The team’s passion, energy, and incredible fan base are unmatched. The PSL is a fantastic platform, and with a remarkable team like Qalandars, I am ready to take them to new heights this season. I believe in this squad’s potential, and together, we will strive to bring success and pride to our fans. With their immense support, we are prepared to give our best performance this season.”
Team Director Sameen Rana praised Gough’s leadership, saying, “Darren Gough is a phenomenal leader who truly understands the culture and spirit of Lahore Qalandars. His contributions during the Global Super League were invaluable. Under his leadership, we are confident our team will excel in HBL PSL 10. His passion and experience will inspire players to perform at their best.”
Under Gough’s guidance, Lahore Qalandars showcased an extraordinary performance during the Global Super League, reaching the final in the tournament’s inaugural edition.
The 54-year-old Gough has had an illustrious cricketing career, representing England from 1994 to 2006. He remains England’s highest wicket-taker in ODIs and one of the top four bowlers across all formats.
Post-retirement, Gough transitioned to media as a cricket analyst and later took on coaching and administrative roles. In 2020, he served as England’s bowling consultant and subsequently worked as the Managing Director of Cricket at Yorkshire.
Lahore Qalandars’ success under Gough in the 2024 Global Super League has set high expectations for his stint in PSL 10.
