ISLAMABAD: Several flights carrying Hajj pilgrims from Madinah to Pakistan have been delayed, while two scheduled services have been cancelled, causing extended waiting times for passengers at Madinah Airport.
According to the latest flight schedule, eight flights linked to the post-Hajj return operation are facing delays, affecting passengers travelling to Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Faisalabad, and other cities. The disruptions come as thousands of pilgrims continue their journey back to Pakistan following the completion of Hajj.
Officials confirmed that PIA flight PK-845 from Sialkot to Madinah and flight PK-846 from Madinah to Islamabad have been cancelled.
Islamabad Flight Delayed By 16 Hours
Flight PK-4234 from Madinah to Islamabad has been delayed by 16 hours, according to the schedule. The delay means that pilgrims who had been waiting at Madinah Airport for more than 20 hours will now depart at approximately 2:30pm.
The prolonged delay has affected a large number of passengers returning from Saudi Arabia after completing their pilgrimage.
Other Flights Also Affected
The flight schedule shows that flight PA-4765 from Madinah to Lahore is delayed by six hours, while flight PK-761 from Madinah to Karachi is delayed by one hour.
Similarly, flight PK-718 from Madinah to Faisalabad is running one and a half hours behind schedule, while flight PK-423 from Karachi to Madinah has been delayed by one hour and fifteen minutes.
Authorities also reported a six-hour delay for flight PK-4764 from Lahore to Madinah and a two-and-a-half-hour delay for flight PK-717.
In addition, flight PK-4236 from Madinah to Islamabad is also facing a departure delay, according to the latest operational update.
