ISLAMABAD, October 23, 2026: Digital bank easypaisa has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting customers against financial fraud, highlighting enhanced identity verification, transaction monitoring and account security measures designed to prevent unauthorised access and suspicious banking activity.
The State Bank of Pakistan-regulated digital bank said its security framework combines biometric authentication, real-time risk monitoring and customer alerts to address evolving fraud threats as digital financial services expand across the country.
According to a statement issued on Friday, easypaisa follows a “Trust by Design” approach, integrating security, privacy and customer protection into the development of its banking products and services.
Biometric verification and enhanced security controls
The bank said it employs multiple layers of security, including one-time passwords (OTPs), biometric verification integrated with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), liveness detection and enhanced Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures.
These measures are designed to verify customer identities, prevent unauthorised account access and reduce the risk of fraudulent transactions.
Biometric authentication and liveness detection provide additional safeguards against identity misuse by helping verify that an individual accessing an account is the legitimate customer.
The bank said its security arrangements aim to maintain a balance between stronger fraud prevention and convenient access to digital banking services.
Suspicious logins and transactions monitored
As part of its fraud prevention strategy, easypaisa said it continuously monitors account activity for potential security threats.
The monitoring framework identifies suspicious activity, including failed login attempts, access from unfamiliar devices, account or SIM migrations, unusual changes in location and transactions classified as high-risk.
Customers may receive alerts about such activity, allowing them to remain informed about potential threats to their accounts.
The bank said combining automated monitoring with customer notifications helps strengthen account protection against changing fraud techniques.
Data privacy and regulatory compliance
Easypaisa also emphasised its commitment to protecting customers’ personal and financial information, describing financial data as among the most sensitive information shared by individuals.
The bank said it works closely with regulators and follows compliance, risk management and governance standards to maintain customer confidence in digital financial services.
It has also strengthened its Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Business (KYB) procedures to improve identity verification and reduce risks associated with fraudulent financial activity.
The bank maintained that responsible handling of customer information and ethical data practices remain central to its digital banking operations.
Easypaisa said it would continue investing in advanced security controls, fraud detection capabilities and customer protection measures as digital banking services evolve.
The bank added that its objective was to provide a secure and reliable digital banking experience while strengthening public confidence in financial transactions conducted through digital platforms.
