The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department has decided to relocate students studying in dilapidated school buildings to safer locations following warnings from technical experts about the structural safety of several facilities.

The Directorate of Elementary and Secondary Education has issued letters to district education officers, directing them to take immediate action regarding school buildings declared dangerous by the Communication and Works (C&W) Department and technical experts.

Immediate Evacuation of Dangerous Buildings Ordered

According to the official correspondence, school buildings identified as dangerous must be vacated immediately to protect students and staff.

Students are to be shifted either to safe buildings within their existing schools or to nearby government schools. If no government school is available, classes should be held in rented buildings.

The directive also clarifies that authorities should seal only the dangerous sections or rooms rather than closing the entire school building, where possible.

The move aims to ensure students can continue their education while reducing the risk posed by structurally unsafe school facilities.
