Dallas Celebrates Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day

DALLAS: Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day was celebrated in Dallas with national pride and patriotic spirit, as members of the Pakistani-American community gathered for a ceremony organized jointly by Rise for Pakistan and Jirga.

The event paid tribute to Pakistan’s independence movement and the sacrifices made for the country’s creation, while speakers urged younger generations to focus on education, national service and developing the skills needed to meet future challenges.

Speeches, Cultural Performances Mark Celebrations

The programme featured speeches, a quiz competition, a lucky draw, a cultural tableau and patriotic songs, creating an atmosphere of national celebration among the participants.

Captain Tariq Mahmood, Chairman of Rise for Pakistan; Lieutenant General Syed Athar Ali; Owais Naseer of Jirga; Dr Rao Kamran Ali; and Lieutenant General (retd) Abdul Qayyum addressed the gathering.

In their speeches, the speakers said Pakistan’s greatest strength lies in its people and called on young Pakistanis to make education, hard work, character and public service central to their lives.

Message to Younger Generation

The speakers highlighted the historical struggle that led to the creation of Pakistan under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, describing independence as the result of a prolonged political movement and significant sacrifices.

They encouraged young people to acquire education, knowledge and modern skills to prepare themselves for emerging economic, technological and social challenges.

The speakers also emphasized the importance of responsible citizenship and constructive contributions to society, urging the Pakistani diaspora to remain connected with the country’s heritage while supporting its development.

The Dallas gathering concluded with a renewed expression of commitment to Pakistan, its national values and the aspirations of future generations
