Islamabad, 14 October 2026: Pakistan Digital Authority Chairperson Dr. Sohail Munir has urged young Pakistanis to make full use of the newly inaugurated Daanish IT Park, describing it as a platform for coders, startups and technology professionals to build businesses and contribute to the country’s digital economy.
The IT park was inaugurated by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on October 10 in Islamabad and is intended to bring incubation centres, innovation hubs, startups and industry leaders together under one roof.
Dr. Munir said the facility is designed to help young people working in technology strengthen their skills, develop new ideas and contribute to the growth of Pakistan’s IT and software exports.
He said the park could also help connect talent from smaller cities with opportunities in the national digital economy.
“The Daanish IT Park establishes that a developer in a small city has a place in the national economy, and it gives the country’s IT exports somewhere to grow from,” he said.
Dr. Munir described the project as a major step in strengthening Pakistan’s digital ecosystem and credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja with advancing the initiative.
The park is expected to support young professionals through IT and artificial intelligence skills development while providing space for startups, innovation and collaboration with established industry players.
At the inauguration, Dr. Munir linked the project to the government’s broader Digital Nation Pakistan initiative, saying the Daanish IT Park gives physical form to that strategy.
Addressing young technology professionals across the country, he said: “To the young Pakistanis writing code in Gilgit, Gwadar or Gujranwala, this is your address. Come and build here.”
He added that the project’s real success would ultimately be measured by the companies launched from the park and the technology exports generated through it.
The Pakistan Digital Authority said the initiative reflects a broader effort to support local talent, encourage startup growth and strengthen Pakistan’s position in the global digital economy.
PDA was established under the Digital Nation Pakistan Act, 2025, with a mandate to lead the country’s digital transformation, develop secure and interoperable digital public infrastructure and establish national standards covering digital governance, data, artificial intelligence regulation and citizen services.
