Karachi — The Sindh High Court has granted bail to a man accused of abducting his former fiancée and allegedly assaulting her with the help of accomplices, after hearing arguments in a post-arrest bail application.

The court’s decision came in a case registered at the Surjani Town police station, where the accused, identified as Adnan, was nominated in an FIR alleging abduction and gang rape. The case involves allegations made by a complainant that his sister was abducted and later assaulted by her former fiancé along with other individuals.

Case background and allegations

According to the complainant, the victim had earlier been engaged to the accused, but the relationship was later terminated. The FIR states that the complainant and his wife were away at work when the alleged incident took place, and that the accused, along with his associates, abducted the woman.

The accused, however, denied the allegations during proceedings. His legal team argued for bail after arrest, prompting the court to review the available record.

Court observations and bail decision

During the hearing, the court observed that the investigative record did not fully support the complainant’s version of events. After hearing both sides, the bench approved bail for the accused against surety bonds of Rs100,000.

Police have not issued any additional public statement following the court’s order.
