Condolence Reference Held in Gujar Khan to Honor Late Advocate Tariq Masood Chouhan

GUJAR KHAN: Members of the legal fraternity gathered at Quaid-e-Azam Hall of the Bar Association in Gujar Khan to pay tribute to late Advocate Tariq Masood Chouhan, former General Secretary of the Bar Association, during a condolence reference organized in his memory.

The event was held following a Quran Khwani for the departed soul and was presided over by Bar President Choudhary Rashid Mubeen Advocate. Lawyers, former office-bearers of the Bar, and members of the legal community attended the ceremony to acknowledge the contributions of the late advocate.

Former Judge Pays Tribute

Addressing the gathering, former District and Sessions Judge Choudhary Anwar Ahmed described Tariq Masood Chouhan as one of the most respected and dignified figures of the local legal community.

He said Chouhan’s leadership, professional conduct, and commitment to the legal profession had earned him lasting respect among both members of the Bar and the Bench. He added that his legacy would continue to inspire future generations of law students and legal practitioners.

Several former and current Bar office-bearers also addressed the condolence reference and paid tribute to the late advocate’s services to the legal profession.

Among those who spoke were former Bar Presidents Malik Muhammad Hussain, Choudhary Nematullah, Agha Muhammad Nauman Munir, Raja Babar Sultan, and Muhammad Irfan Qureshi Advocates, along with former General Secretary Raja Jawad Arsalan, Choudhary Affan Iftikhar, Shahid Mahmood Khan, and current Bar President Choudhary Rashid Mubeen Advocate.

The proceedings were conducted by Bar General Secretary Syed Nosheer Haider Imdad Advocate. The Holy Quran was recited by M. Mansoor-ul-Haq Raja, while Choudhary Ahmed Raza and Faizan Zafar Awan Advocates presented a Naat.

Emphasis on Remembering Departed Lawyers

Speaking on the occasion, Syed Nosheer Haider Imdad Advocate highlighted the importance of maintaining the Bar’s traditions of organizing condolence references and prayer gatherings for deceased colleagues.

He suggested that members of the legal fraternity should also visit the graves of departed lawyers on their death anniversaries to offer Fateha and remember their contributions to the profession.

Honorary Membership Awarded

During the ceremony, former District and Sessions Judge Choudhary Anwar Ahmed was awarded honorary membership of the Bar Association in recognition of his services.

The event concluded with a collective prayer led by Advocate Shahid Mahmood Khan for the forgiveness and elevation of the spiritual ranks of late Tariq Masood Chouhan and other deceased lawyers, as well as patience and strength for their families.
