Islamabad: Master Changan has outlined plans to introduce more than 30 new models across four brands in Pakistan, aiming to broaden its reach across mainstream, electrified and premium vehicle segments.
The roadmap was presented at the company’s Next Leap event in Lahore on October 3, 2026. It covers Changan, Nevo, Deepal and Avatr, with future products spanning petrol, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, range-extended electric and battery-electric powertrains.
For buyers, the central promise is greater choice across different vehicle sizes, technologies and price points. How much of that promise reaches the market, however, will depend on how effectively the announced roadmap is translated into showroom launches.
Four Brands, Distinct Market Roles
Master Changan’s expansion strategy assigns a different role to each of its four brands, ranging from mainstream vehicles to electrified models and luxury offerings.
| Brand | Announced Direction |
|---|---|
| Changan | Five locally assembled passenger models and two new-energy commercial vehicles |
| Nevo | Five electrified models across multiple segments |
| Deepal | Four battery-electric and range-extended models |
| Avatr | Luxury SUVs, coupes and sedans |
The plans form part of a three-year roadmap extending to 2029.
The strategy also builds on Master Changan’s earlier plans to introduce Nevo and expand its portfolio beyond the company’s established Changan lineup.
Models Showcased at The Next Leap Event
The event featured a range of vehicles representing the company’s broader product strategy, including the Oshan X7 Black Edition, UNI-S, Nevo Hunter, Deepal E07, Avatr 07 and Avatr 11 Royal Edition.
Master Changan reported more than 1,500 orders for the Hunter, with deliveries scheduled to begin in October 2026.
The arrival of Avatr also introduced a more premium electric offering to the company’s Pakistan portfolio.
Launch coverage lists the Avatr 07 Max RWD at Rs20 million and the Ultra AWD at Rs22 million.
The four-seat Avatr 11 Royal Edition was announced at Rs29 million, with bookings already open.
Together, the showcased models give a clearer indication of the range behind Master Changan’s expansion plan. Buyers will still need individual model announcements for confirmed specifications, pricing and delivery timelines.
CEO Danial Malik Reflects on Master Changan’s Early Journey
Speaking at the event, CEO Danial Malik recalled the questions that surrounded Master Group’s initial decision to partner with a Chinese automotive brand.
He described a Pakistani market in which buyers had limited options and had come to accept those compromises as normal.
Malik framed the company’s journey as an effort to challenge that situation gradually, one segment at a time.
He said the next phase of expansion would bring more advanced technology into smaller and more accessible vehicle categories.
Master Changan says it now has more than 85,000 vehicles on Pakistani roads and operates 30 dealerships across 18 cities.
Its next phase includes doubling plant capacity, localising new-energy components and expanding exports.
Haroon Akhtar Urges Shift Beyond Vehicle Assembly
The event also carried a broader message for Pakistan’s automotive sector.
Haroon Akhtar Khan, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, called for Pakistan to move beyond vehicle assembly and develop stronger capabilities in manufacturing, engineering and innovation.
He said the country needed local expertise in batteries, electric motors, charging equipment, power electronics and automotive software.
Akhtar also stressed the need for Pakistan to enter global automotive supply chains by developing products and components that international markets would want to purchase.
According to the event notes, he pointed to the industrial development of China and Japan, highlighting the role of research, technical expertise and stronger industrial ecosystems.
He cautioned that Pakistan’s transition toward electric mobility should build domestic capability rather than simply increase vehicle imports.
Execution Will Decide the Next Phase
For Master Changan, the success of the Next Leap strategy will now depend on execution.
The company will need to bring the announced models to market while also developing the local manufacturing, technology and support infrastructure required to sustain a much broader vehicle portfolio.
The scale of the roadmap is significant, but its impact on Pakistan’s automotive market will ultimately depend on how quickly and effectively those plans reach buyers.
