ISLAMABAD — The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has stepped up its campaign against unauthorized constructions and violations of building bylaws in Islamabad, sealing 28 properties during coordinated operations across the city. The move comes under the directives of CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, who has emphasized strict enforcement of regulations to curb illegal practices.
Zone-IV Targeted for Violations
Officials said the Building Control Section, supported by the Enforcement Wing, district administration, and Islamabad Police, carried out operations in Zone-IV. Eight buildings on Kuri Road were sealed for non-conforming use, while 20 additional structures in the same zone were sealed for violating the CDA Ordinance 1960 and Building Control Regulations 2020. Notices were issued to owners, warning them of further action if compliance is not ensured.
Enforcement Drive Under Chairman’s Instructions
The CDA administration noted that the intensified drive reflects the authority’s commitment to ensuring adherence to building bylaws across Islamabad. Chairman Randhawa has directed that enforcement measures be applied consistently in all zones of the capital, with particular focus on areas where violations are widespread.
Consistent Action Against Illegal Constructions
Officials confirmed that operations against illegal constructions will continue in the coming days. The CDA has made clear that sealing and notices are part of a broader effort to discourage non-conforming use of properties and to maintain urban planning standards in the capital.
Citizens Urged to Seek Proper Approvals
The CDA administration urged residents and builders to cooperate with authorities by obtaining necessary approvals before starting any construction work. Officials stressed that compliance with regulations is essential to avoid penalties, adding that the authority’s enforcement teams will remain active to monitor and act against violators.
