ISLAMABAD, October 30, 2026: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has expressed reservations over certain remarks made by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, while also criticizing the personal attacks directed at him in response.

Speaking to journalists outside Parliament House in Islamabad on Friday, Barrister Gohar said it would have been better if certain words had not been used during Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s speech.

However, he maintained that the manner in which political opponents responded to the JUI-F leader was equally inappropriate.

The PTI chairman urged political leaders to exercise restraint and avoid statements or actions that could further increase tensions in the country.

He said the entire nation could stand united against external challenges, but internal divisions posed a greater threat to national stability.

Barrister Gohar warned that political tensions had already reached a concerning level and should not be allowed to escalate further.

He emphasized that political leaders must play a constructive role in reducing confrontation rather than contributing to further polarization.

The PTI chairman reiterated that his party would not cross constitutional or political red lines, stressing that Pakistan and the state must remain the foremost priorities.

He also called for avoiding measures that could undermine political leadership and democratic institutions.

Discussing electoral reforms, Barrister Gohar demanded equal representation for the government and opposition in the reform process.

He said electoral reforms should be impartial, transparent and consistent with the aspirations of the people.

The PTI chairman maintained that meaningful political engagement and responsible leadership were essential to reducing tensions and strengthening democratic institutions.
