Pakistan has been replaced by Bangladesh in the upcoming Asian Hockey Champions Trophy, according to sources.
The tournament is scheduled to take place in India from October 27 to November 5, with the Pakistan Hockey Federation reportedly declining to send the national team to the event.
Following Pakistan’s decision, Bangladesh confirmed its participation after receiving an invitation from the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF).
India will host the tournament, with matches scheduled to be played in Jalandhar and Mohali.
The updated draw for the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy is expected to be announced on Friday.
With Bangladesh replacing Pakistan, the tournament will feature Malaysia, China, India, Japan, South Korea and Bangladesh.
Organizers had reportedly kept Oman as another alternative option alongside Bangladesh in case a replacement team was required.
