SYLHET: Bangladesh completed a 2-0 Test series whitewash over Pakistan after winning the second Test by 78 runs at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Pakistan, chasing a target of 437, were bowled out for 358 on the final day despite resistance from Mohammad Rizwan, Shan Masood and Salman Ali Agha. The result gave Bangladesh a comprehensive series victory at home.

Pakistan resumed after a brief rain interruption and added quick runs through Rizwan and Sajid Khan. Sajid made 28 before Taijul Islam broke the stand.

Rizwan was dismissed for 94 off 166 balls by Shoriful Islam, ending Pakistan’s last major resistance. Taijul then bowled Khurram Shahzad for a duck to complete a six-wicket haul and seal the match.

Earlier in the chase, Pakistan lost both openers with 41 runs on the board before Babar Azam and Shan Masood steadied the innings. Babar scored 47, while Shan made 71 before falling to Taijul.

Salman also contributed 71 in a 134-run stand with Rizwan, but Bangladesh regained control late on Day 4 and finished the job on the final day.

Bangladesh had posted 278 in their first innings, led by Litton Das’s 126. Pakistan replied with 232, giving the hosts a 46-run lead.

In the second innings, Mushfiqur Rahim scored 137 as Bangladesh set Pakistan a target of 437. Khurram Shahzad took four wickets for Pakistan, while Sajid Khan claimed three.
