Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the 16-member Pakistan Under-17 squad for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka Under-17, with 17-year-old leg-spinner Azaan Ahmed appointed captain.
The Pakistan and Sri Lanka U17 teams will compete in a series at Multan Cricket Stadium from October 9 to 24, 2026. The Sri Lankan side is scheduled to arrive in Multan on October 5, with both teams set to hold practice sessions at the venue from October 6 to 8.
Azaan Ahmed earned the captaincy after an impressive campaign in the National Men’s U17 Cup, where he represented Rawalpindi and took 36 wickets in eight matches. His best bowling figures were four wickets for 28 runs. Under his leadership, Rawalpindi defeated Abbottabad by 125 runs in the final to win the title.
Pakistan U17 Squad
All 16 players selected for the Sri Lanka series previously participated in the National U17 Cup. Following the tournament, 48 players were invited to a skills development camp in Faisalabad, with 30 shortlisted for the second phase.
The Pakistan U17 squad comprises:
Azaan Ahmed (captain), Abdullah Ahmed Butt, Arsalan Hassan, Dawood Taufiq Rana, Fahad Iqbal, Hamid Raza, Hamza Abbas Baloch, Hasan Ali, Muhammad Isa Baloch, Muhammad Ehsan, Muhammad Naveed, Muhammad Saim, Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, Muhammad Yousaf, Sher Wali Khan and Sadees Ahmed.
The reserves are Ammar Khan, Imad Ali Shah, Nafees Akhtar and Saqib Khan.
Pakistan vs Sri Lanka U17 Schedule
The series will begin with a three-day match from October 9 to 11. This will be followed by five one-day matches on October 15, 17, 19, 21 and 24.
All matches will be played at Multan Cricket Stadium.
