MILAN: Tennis star Aryna Sabalenka has made a stylish appearance at a fashion show in Milan, with photos from the event attracting attention from fans on social media.
The Belarusian tennis star appeared as a model for a leading fashion brand during a fashion magazine event, showcasing a different side of her public persona away from the tennis court.
Sabalenka is a four-time Grand Slam champion and one of the most recognised names in women’s tennis.
The fashion appearance comes days after Sabalenka made headlines during the US Open when she briefly stopped play after reporting a strong smell of marijuana around the court.
During her third-round match against Uzbekistan’s Kamilla Rakhimova, Sabalenka raised the issue with chair umpire Eva Asderaki-Moore during the second service game, temporarily interrupting play.
After the match, Sabalenka said she had no objection to people enjoying themselves or using cannabis, but said she preferred spectators not to do so near the tennis court because the smell made it difficult for her to concentrate.
The fashion-show appearance has since given fans another glimpse of the tennis star away from competitive action.
