Armed Forces Reaffirm Resolve to Defend Country on 79th Independence Day

RAWALPINDI, August 14, 2026: The country’s military leadership on Friday extended heartfelt Independence Day greetings to the nation and reaffirmed the Armed Forces’ unwavering resolve to defend the motherland against all threats while safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In a message issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces; Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf; and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu congratulated the nation on the historic occasion.

Armed Forces Pay Tribute to Quaid-e-Azam, Founding Fathers

The services chiefs paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founding fathers and all those whose sacrifices turned the struggle for freedom into the creation of an independent and sovereign Pakistan.

They said the vision, courage and determination of the country’s founders remained a guiding force for the nation and continued to inspire Pakistanis to uphold the principles and ideals upon which the country was established.

The Armed Forces also paid tribute to the nation’s martyrs and acknowledged the services of veterans, law enforcement personnel and citizens who have contributed to Pakistan’s security and progress.

According to the ISPR statement, their courage, dedication and selfless service have strengthened the country’s resilience and helped safeguard its independence, security and national interests.

Armed Forces Reaffirm Resolve to Defend Motherland

Reaffirming their commitment to national defence, the Armed Forces said they remained determined to protect Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against all threats.

They also reiterated their commitment to upholding the Constitution and fulfilling the responsibility entrusted to them by the people of Pakistan.

The military leadership said the Armed Forces, standing united with the nation, would remain steadfast in preserving peace and stability while helping create an environment conducive to national progress and prosperity.

Independence Day Message Calls for Unity and Tolerance

The services chiefs stressed that Pakistan’s strength lies in the unity and collective resolve of its people.

On Independence Day, they urged the nation to renew its commitment to the enduring principles of Faith, Unity and Discipline, strengthen national cohesion, promote tolerance and work collectively towards a secure, stable and prosperous Pakistan.

The message concluded with “Pakistan Armed Forces Zindabad! Pakistan Hamesha Paindabad!”
