CDF Asim Munir Meets Norway Foreign Minister at GHQ, Security Ties Discussed

RAWALPINDI, August 13, 2026: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, met Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where the two sides discussed regional security, bilateral relations and areas of mutual interest.

According to ISPR, the Norwegian delegation was led by Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide.

During the meeting, Field Marshal Asim Munir outlined Pakistan’s position on global peace and regional stability and stressed the importance of stronger international cooperation to address shared security challenges.

The Norwegian foreign minister appreciated the role of the Pakistan Armed Forces in supporting regional peace and stability.

Both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Pakistan-Norway relations and expanding cooperation in the defence and security sectors.

The meeting comes as Islamabad continues diplomatic and security engagement with international partners on regional stability and broader bilateral cooperation.
