ISLAMABAD, August 3, 2026: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has organized a “Japan Education and Career Awareness Workshop” to help students explore higher education, employment opportunities and professional pathways in Japan.
The workshop aimed to provide students with information about academic options, scholarship opportunities, legal visa procedures and the skills required to compete in the international job market.
Addressing the participants, AIOU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasser Mahmood said the university is focused on preparing students with quality education, foreign language skills and professional abilities aligned with global standards.
He said the Japan Pakistan Advancement Center, along with the university’s Turkish and Russian language and cultural centres, is working to create opportunities for students in international education, research, scholarships and employment.
AIOU Encourages Students to Pursue Global Career Paths
Prof. Dr. Nasser Mahmood emphasized that students seeking education or employment opportunities in Japan must follow legal procedures and develop the professional skills needed for success abroad.
He said discipline, honesty, hard work and respect for the law are essential qualities for individuals aiming to build successful careers in Japan.
The vice chancellor advised students to avoid illegal channels and focus on acquiring internationally recognized skills that can improve their career prospects.
Japan Expert Highlights Education and Employment Opportunities
Workshop resource person Mayumi Takashima delivered a detailed presentation on Japan’s higher education system, employment opportunities, visa pathways and career planning.
She highlighted the importance of learning the Japanese language and guided students on how to pursue academic and professional opportunities through safe and legal channels.
Takashima also answered questions from participants regarding education and career options in Japan.
Japan Pakistan Advancement Center Supports International Exposure
The workshop was also addressed by Bahram Shah, Luqman Cheema and Dr. Saima Nasir, who highlighted the objectives of the Japan Pakistan Advancement Center and its role in preparing AIOU students for international opportunities.
They said such initiatives help students gain awareness about global education systems and develop the skills needed to compete in international markets.
AIOU said it will continue organizing programmes aimed at expanding students’ access to global learning opportunities and professional development.
