1 Min Read

A recent global conference on girls’ education was held in Pakistan, with an invitation extended to neighboring Afghanistan. However, as expected, the Taliban government rejected the invitation, demonstrating their continued obstinacy.

The Taliban’s oppression of women’s rights continues, especially in the field of education. International human rights organizations have consistently supported Afghan women. Pakistani human rights activist Farzana Bari stated that complete gender-based discrimination is being carried out in Afghanistan, where under the Taliban regime, women’s rights are completely violated. She praised Afghan women for standing strong in the face of state aggression and oppression.

Afghan women also face continuous health issues as the Afghan government does not prioritize their health. Another human rights activist, Banish Javed, remarked that being a girl in Afghanistan has become a crime under Taliban rule. Women in households are even ordered to shut their windows, with the Taliban government justifying these heinous acts by invoking religion.

In addition to restricting education, the Taliban has imposed bans on women working. The self-proclaimed Islamic system of the Taliban government is involved in serious human rights violations.
