Afghan national Shafiq, son of Jumma Khan, who is residing in Murree illegally, has attacked senior journalist Rashid Mughal. Rashid Mughal has been threatened with death. Rashid Mughal has reported the incident to the Murree police station and requested legal action against Shafiq Afghan, which has been registered and put on the police’s docket. According to details, senior journalist Rashid Mughal was harassed by Shafiq Afghan, who has been residing in Murree for a long time. Shafiq Afghan, at the instigation of some local individuals, attacked Rashid Mughal while he was passing through Mall Road, Murree. Shafiq Afghan shouted at Rashid Mughal, physically assaulted him, and threatened to kill him. Senior journalist Rashid Mughal has demanded that the police and other law enforcement agencies take action against Shafiq Afghan and provide protection to journalists. He has also demanded that the police conduct an operation against Afghans who are residing in Murree illegally and have been a threat to the local community. Rashid Mughal has requested that action be taken against Shafiq Afghan so that no Afghan national dares to attack a journalist in the future.”
